In this workshop, we discuss practical issues in conducting due diligence using case studies such as Canary, Amaranth and Weavering, and examine issues for operational due diligence practitioners and the consequences of how they played out from a due diligence perspective. We cover operational due diligence from the perspectives of:
- market practice and development of regulatory disclosure,
- analysis of style drift,
- financial statement indicators of risk,
- service provider duties,
- impact of litigation and
- the impact of media comment by examining how the relevant funds were structured and managed, and what issues should have been identified ahead of investment.
